🎥 About Me

I’m Athénaïs Host, a French filmmaker and passionate storyteller currently based in Bristol, England. I moved to the UK in 2019 and have been studying Film and Television at Boomsatsuma College, where I’ve been developing my voice as a director and creative.

I’m driven by a love for cinema that is rooted in authenticity, exploration, and social meaning. I believe film is one of the most powerful tools we have to tell stories that matter—stories that can challenge perspectives, amplify voices, and inspire real change.

In addition to filmmaking, I have a deep interest in religion, philosophy, and ethics, and I often explore these themes through my work. I’m also fluent in French and English, and currently learning Spanish at a B2 level, which allows me to connect with global perspectives and audiences.

🎬 Experience

In 2025, I had the incredible opportunity to attend the Cannes Film Festival as part of the Ecumenical Jury. During this time, I:

  • Watched 32 films across 10 days
  • Wrote 9 reviews for the Ecumenical Jury
  • Attended premieres and saw legendary figures such as Tom Cruise and Emma Watson
  • Deepened my understanding of international cinema and the industry at large

This experience confirmed my dream of one day presenting one of my own films at Cannes.
